Embodied Communication between Human and Artifacts

چکیده
In this paper, we focus on embodiment aspects of communication between human and single function artifact. Communication with embodiment media between human and artifact is difficult because of the difference of embodiment. We discuss a bottom up process and top down process of designing a common understand of embodiment media between human and artifact. keywords: human-artifact communication, embodiment

Embodied Interaction for Mediated Communication between Children and Parents
We present the ShareTable, a system that draws on the paradigm of embodied interaction to support communication between a parent and a child who may be separated by distance. Informed by this paradigm, we leverage existing activities, artifacts, and routines to help families stay connected by acting through the ShareTable system. Our exploratory work with this system has provided some insight i...
متن کاملRobot-Human Interaction -- How Robot Approach Behaviors Affect Human Perception of a Robot’s Character and Role
When building computational artifacts that are capable of social relationships with human, it is desirable for these artifacts to possess a human form like those of humanoids, bipedal robots and anthropomorphic agents. If these artifacts appear human-like, they can display nonverbal social interaction cues. In particular, physically embodied artifacts such as bipedal robots can use the nonverba...
متن کاملToward Robots as Embodied Knowledge Media
We describe attempts to have robots behave as embodied knowledge media that will permit knowledge to be communicated through embodied interactions in the real world. The key issue here is to give robots the ability to associate interactions with information content while interacting with a communication partner. Toward this end, we present two contributions in this paper. The first concerns the...
متن کاملSocial robots – emotional agents: Some remarks on naturalizing man-machine interaction
The construction of embodied conversational agents – robots as well as avatars – seem to be a new challenge in the field of both cognitive AI and human-computer-interface development. On the one hand, one aims at gaining new insights in the development of cognition and communication by constructing intelligent, physical instantiated artefacts. On the other hand people are driven by the idea, th...
متن کامل- 1 - Authentication in Ubiquitous Computing ( Extended
Invisible and ubiquitous computing aims at defining environments where human beings can interact in an intuitive way with surrounding objects. Those objects, which can be personal digital assistants, electronic rings, doors or even clothes, offer embedded chips with computation power and communication facilities and are generally called artifacts. Because virtual electronic services are embodie...
